I rarely "watch" TV ads. I sometimes see them in passing, and only because something happens to catch my attention. So the first couple of times I actually tuned into this ad for the Schick Quattro TrimStyle for women, it was because I did a double-take about 16 seconds in.
Are they really doing what I think they're doing?! Why, yes! Yes they are!
Here's the entire 30 seconds of personal topiary maintenance for the self-starter. Hilariously tacky? Or totally brilliant? You decide!
UPDATE: After receiving an email from a woman who felt "they were awful awful awful ads clearly written by men!" I dug deeper to see what I could find out . . .
1) A team of women created these ads (credits below the second vid).
2) Women heart this razor.
3) Women either hate the ads or love them. Haters think a man created the ads; admirers think they were done by a woman.
Below is the European version, never released in the U.S., which went viral on the Web. Depending on your point of view it's either edgy or completely tasteless.
Either way, it's also hilarious.
